Hon Karen Chhour: I have been advised that Oranga Tamariki has interpreted the term ‘commencement date’ as the date the partner began to operationalise their prototype. The four Enabling Communities prototypes that have been operationalised are: - Ngāi Tahu, Christchurch/South Island – 2 October 2021 - Waikato Tainui, Hamilton – 1 July 2022 - Eastern Bay of Plenty Iwi Provider Alliance, Whakatāne – 12 March 2024 - Ngāti Kahungunu Iwi Incorporated, Hastings – 19 July 2024 The remaining five prototypes are in development.
