44821 (2025). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What, if anything, are the common issues identified in reportable events about clinical information systems at Wellington Hospital in the last year, if any?
Hon Simeon Brown: I am advised that common issues identified with clinical information systems at Wellington Hospital include slow system performance, occasional crashes, and limited interoperability between different IT systems. These challenges reflect years of underinvestment and fragmentation, particularly in light of previous decisions to restructure the health system in the middle of a pandemic. Our Government is focused on turning these issues around by building a more modern, connected digital health system that puts patients first and supports timely, quality care.
