44807 (2024). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: Will the Step-Up Home in the pilot military-style academy be one physical residence, or offered to participants in various geographical sites?

Hon Karen Chhour: I am advised by Oranga Tamariki a decision has been made not to include a specific ‘Step-Up Home’ for the pilot. A comprehensively planned, locally designed and actively supported community transition plan will be developed for each young person including a safe and stable living situation as the foundation for intensive wrap-around support and monitoring.
