44777 (2024). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: With regard to reply 43708, how are Health New Zealand working on improving data quality and completeness, and when will we see the results of this work?

Hon Matt Doocey: "I am advised that Health New Zealand is taking the following actions to improve data quality and completeness: • Reviving and re-invigorating PRIMHD data governance. • Automating reports to track improvements as well as establishing routine data collection. • Ensuring accurate and complete coding within emergency departments, and understanding and establishing data collection expectations to ensure data is captured consistently and regularly. • Establishing cross-organisational work to connect information across Finance, Workforce, Contract Management systems and PRIMHD. I am further advised that these actions will take place within the next three financial years, with the immediate focus on data related to Health Targets and Mental Health Targets."
