Chlöe Swarbrick to the Minister of Climate Change: What advice, if any, has the Minister received on what the potential implications for meeting the first Emissions Budget would be for any actions under the First Emissions Reduction Plan which were not able to be modelled in terms of emissions impacts?

Hon Simon Watts: I received advice that the interim projections included in the discussion document on the second ERP take into account policy changes to the first ERP, and indicate we remain on track to meet the first emissions budget. as such, policy changes that couldn’t be modelled are not expected to materially impact our ability to meet Emissions Budget 1. This advice noted the inherent uncertainty associated with projections and modelling.
