44610 (2024). Hon Rachel Brooking to the Attorney-General

44610 (2024). Hon Rachel Brooking to the Attorney-General: When the Attorney General wrote to all Ministers on 25 March 2024 to say “… rushing legislation and skipping steps increase the risk that we get it wrong and the legislation is ineffective or unworkable in practice” did she consider the Fast Track Approvals Bill an example?
Hon Judith Collins: This Government has an ambitious legislative programme and, as Attorney-General, I have shared with my ministerial colleagues the balance required in the process. I have exempted myself from the Fast Track Bill and Minister Goldsmith is the acting Attorney-General for that purpose.
