44578 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: Does he stand by his statement that Health New Zealand’s overspend is due to “…a combination of things. It is back office staff, as we’ve mentioned, but it’s also outsourced personnel”, if so, how many outsourced personal were contracted by Health New Zealand on 24 July 2024?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that Health New Zealand does not hold data on individual outsourced personnel headcount at a given point in time. Outsourced full-time equivalents (FTE) are estimated based on total invoices presented for payment; however, as the month of July is not yet closed off, this cannot be provided.
