44526 (2024). Francisco Hernandez to the Minister for Emergency Management and Recovery: What advice, reports, briefings, aide memoires, or any other documents has the Minister or any member of their Office received, if any, during the week beginning 15 July 2024, by title and date?
Hon Mark Mitchell: As the Minister for Emergency Management and Recovery, I regularly request and receive advice from officials on matters relating to my Emergency Management and Recovery portfolio. I received the following documents from officials in the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Chief Executive, Cyclone Recovery between 15 July and 19 July 2024 (inclusive): • 16/07/2024: Aide Memoire: Visit to Eastern BOP - Whakaari White Island • 16/07/2024: Aide Memoire: Opening of new emergency management facility at National Park • 16/07/2024: Aide Memoire: Visit to Taupō District Council • 16/07/2024: Memorandum: Supporting Recovery in Wairoa • 19/07/2024: Aide Memoire: Meeting with Insurance Council of New Zealand • 19/07/2024: Aide Memoire: Meeting with Farmers Mutual Group (FMG) In addition, jointly with the Prime Minister I received the following document: North Island Weather Events: Progress update on categorisation and buy outs, sediment and debris, 17/07/2024. I also received two documents on 17 and 18 July 2024. It is not in the public interest to release the titles of these documents as the matters discussed are under active consideration. Further, staff in my office may informally receive documents, including draft documents, from officials in NEMA and the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC) and from other agencies, and from Ministers’ offices. This information is not held in a format that can be easily extracted within the time frame.
