44522 (2024). Lan Pham to the Minister of Finance: How does Treasury’s value-for-money framework consider how the costs and benefits of proposals are distributed across different genders?
Hon Nicola Willis: When making a proposal, agencies are asked to think widely about its possible benefits and costs using relevant policy frameworks, including those developed by the Treasury. These frameworks can help identify possible gender and other distributional impacts across a proposal’s various dimensions. These impacts may be intended or unintended, and direct or indirect. It is through this agency thinking and associated evidence that the Treasury can gain an understanding of the gender implications of a proposal for assessment and advisory purposes.
