Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter (January to March 2024) toward the objective ‘Reduce stigma and discrimination for people with hepatitis C who inject drugs’ under ‘Focus area 2: Prevention and harm reduction’ in the National Hepatitis C Action Plan?

Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that Health New Zealand commissioned a national approach to raise awareness about hepatitis C, to increase testing and treatment. This includes a focus on reducing stigma for people who have or are injecting drugs.
