Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter (January to March 2024) has been made toward actioning ‘Broader population screening services’ under Focus area 3: Testing and linkage to care actions as recommended in the National HIV Action Plan?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised during the January to March 2024 quarter, work continued on an audit of antenatal screening to identify gaps in screening for HIV (and syphilis) to inform further work to achieve the goals of the HIV Action Plan and wider Sexually Transmitted and Blood Borne Infections (STBBI) work. Progress on the audit has been delayed while necessary Privacy Impact Assessment and data sharing arrangements are completed.
