44412 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter (January to March 2024) has been made toward actioning ‘Cross-government action to reduce stigma and discrimination’ under ‘Focus area 4: Support for people living with HIV, including stigma and discrimination actions’ as recommended in the National HIV Action Plan?
Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised during the January to March 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand led the first phase of developing a social marketing campaign. The goal of this campaign is to address stigma and discrimination experienced by people living with HIV. A working group has been established to inform this work and it includes people living with HIV. This work will inform further cross-government action to reduce stigma and discrimination.
