44407 (2025). Arena Williams to the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs: Does the Minister agree with the Minister of Finance that New Zealand banking competition "resembles a cosy pillow fight, with profit margins coming first and everyday Kiwis coming second”?

Hon Scott Simpson: This Government is focused on increasing competition in a range of sectors, including banking. That is why, in July, we announced a capital raise for KiwiBank to grow it as a disruptor to the big four.
