44375 (2024). Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Minister of Health: What actions, if any, has been done to assist with nursing pay parity?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that the Government purchases nursing and other primary care services from a wide range of service providers contracted to Health New Zealand. The service provider is responsible for the operational management of the business, including negotiating and agreeing wage rates with employees or their union. Health NZ increased service delivery prices by 5% from 1 July 2023 and has recently further increased prices between 2.5% and 6% from 1 July 2024.
