44359 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What actions, if any, have been taken in the quarter (January to March 2024) to implement the recommendation ‘Consider the opportunities provided by moving the named range of services into the community’ as part of Te Whatu Ora Planned Care Taskforce Reset and Restore Plan?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the January to March 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand was developing a number of community-based pathways, including the bariatric pilot in Counties Manukau and Northland, and work on the women's abnormal uterine bleeding community pathway. The FIT for Symptomatic Patients pathway also has a significant community component.
I am further advised that Health New Zealand's mobile services provide minor surgical care in more rural communities to strengthen services offered to more rural and remote communities.
