44357 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What actions, if any, have been taken in the quarter (January to March 2024) to implement the recommendation ‘Continue to seek advice regarding the use of FIT in other aspects of colonoscopy prioritisation’ as part of Te Whatu Ora Planned Care Taskforce Reset and Restore Plan?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the January to March 2024 quarter, work continued to plan for the FIT for Symptomatic Patients pilot, with equity as a focus. I am further advised that Health New Zealand has confirmed funding to extend the pilot, which is active in Waitematā and Waikato. A national steering group has convened, and planning is currently underway.
