Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What actions, if any, have been taken in the quarter (January to March 2024) to implement the recommendation ‘Waiting times need to be accurately measured and reported both at District and Regional level and assessed nationally by Te Whatu Ora’ as part of Te Whatu Ora Planned Care Taskforce Reset and Restore Plan?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the January to March 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand was developing an Expected Wait Time dashboard. The dashboard, which is on track to be completed in August, will report on expected waiting times by district and service, at an average and a 95th percentile. Once the dashboard is finalised, Health NZ will commence a phased roll-out, initially aimed at primary care clinicians.
