44320 (2025). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: How many, if any, of the 550 social homes to be rolled out in Auckland this year will be leased from developers and what will the length of those leases be?

Hon Chris Bishop: Community Housing Providers (CHPs) determine whether places will be build to own or build to lease and the duration of any lease agreements. I am advised that at this stage, around 45 percent of places that have been approved or are under evaluation will be leased by CHPs. I expect the details of the 550 additional social housing places to be confirmed in October 2025.
