Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What actions, if any, have been taken in the quarter (January to March 2024) to implement the recommendation ‘Increase the use of telehealth for follow-up work that is necessary but where in-person contact is not essential’ as part of Te Whatu Ora Planned Care Taskforce Reset and Restore Plan?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised during the January to March 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand expanded telehealth use across a number of districts and services for follow-ups. Telehealth can be provided by a range of health professions such as nursing working within the clinical team.
