Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What actions, if any, have been taken in the quarter (January to March 2024) to implement the recommendation ‘Overdue follow-ups data needs to be collated by region, district, ethnicity and specialty to understand the size of the waiting list’ as part of Te Whatu Ora Planned Care Taskforce Reset and Restore Plan?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised during the January to March 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand uncovered inconsistencies within the follow-up data for clinical specialties and subspecialties. being recorded in the district patient information systems. I am advised that this is being addressed within a wider project, that is reviewing the process in each region before Health New Zealand can collate consistent data for overdue follow up.
