44287 (2024). Rachel Boyack to the Associate Minister of Agriculture: What inspections, if any, have the Ministry for Primary Industries, or any other government department or agency, conducted at Orana Wildlife Park in the last ten years?

Hon Andrew Hoggard: I am advised that Ministry for Primary Industries Verification Services records indicate there have been 59 visits for animal import or export verification and 10 annual verification audits and three independent audits over the last 10 years at Orana Wildlife Park. Additionally, animal welfare inspectors have undertaken seven investigations of Orana Wildlife Park in response to animal welfare complaints in the last ten years. Each investigation may have involved several visits to the site. None of those investigations resulted in animal welfare prosecutions. I am not able to comment on visits by other agencies.
