44246 (2025). Arena Williams to the Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs: Does the Minister agree with Consumer New Zealand that "the government has been extremely gentle with the sectors it hopes will solve the scams crisis."?

Hon Scott Simpson: We all have a role to play in responding to the impact of scams. That is why I have announced the New Zealand Anti-Scam Alliance which includes government agencies, banks, digital platforms, telecommunications companies, non-profits and other organisations. Industry is well-equipped to take action.
