44219 (2024). Rt Hon Chris Hipkins to the Prime Minister: Does he stand by his goal for New Zealand to be "highly interoperable with Australia" and a "force multiplier for Australia and the US and other partners", if so, how, if at all, does he plan to achieve this without compromising strategic autonomy?
Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: Yes. New Zealand and Australia share a long-standing alliance, which underpins our strategic relationship. The United States is one of our most important international partners. Successive New Zealand governments have worked with both countries to strengthen interoperability and ensure we are able to operate alongside these partners in addressing shared security challenges.
