44213 (2024). Hon Ginny Andersen to the Minister of Police: How many clubs and ranges, if any, have Te Tari Pūreke recorded as closed since 2018 as a result of regulation changes?

Hon Mark Mitchell: I am advised that prior to the new regulations coming into effect, Te Tari Pūreke – Firearms Safety Authority were not involved in club or range operations, other than with Pistol NZ. The Authority enquired with shooting bodies and disciplines as to which ranges had been impacted. There were no examples provided, nor any examples of permanent closures due to the new regulations provided to the Authority.
