44198 (2025). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: Further to his reply to Question 41886 (2025), how will the $140 million taken from Kāinga Ora in Budget 2024 be allocated and what criteria, if any, will be used to prioritise the allocations?

Hon Chris Bishop: Of the 1,500 social homes funded from Budget 24, 500 are being delivered through projects previously identified by Community Housing Providers (CHPs) as the “maintaining momentum” pathway. The priority locations for social housing delivery by strategic partners were chosen based on social housing need, existing delivery plans and other factors. Allocations were further informed by strategic partner capability and capacity to deliver.
