44144 (2025). Francisco Hernandez to the Prime Minister: What consultations are the Minister’s departments, agencies, crown entities and any other bodies that the Minister is responsible for, if any, planning to open on the week beginning Monday 1 September 2025 with employees around any changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions, and when is any such consultation expected to close?

Rt Hon Christopher Luxon: In my capacity as the Prime Minister, I am the responsible minister for the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is a departmental agency hosted by DPMC. I am advised that DPMC and NEMA have not commenced any consultations with respective staff relating to changes to employment roles, employment numbers and any other employment conditions for the week beginning 1 September 2025.
