Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: How does the Minister reconcile her proposal that ‘the Committee agree in principle to allow the sale of smokeless tobacco and nicotine products where the evidence shows they are significantly less harmful than smoking’, with her commitment to Smokefree 2025?

Hon Casey Costello: I assume the Member can rationalise that tools that support smoking cessation directly support the Smokefree 2025 target.
