43998 (2025). Ricardo Menéndez March to the Minister of Immigration: Will legislation "expanding deportation liability for up to 20 years to cover residence class visa holders who commit serious criminal offences" be drafted to be retrospective?

Hon Erica Stanford: It is intended to apply to convictions after the changes have come into force. The Bill will go through the usual legislative process, including Select Committee scrutiny.
