43969 (2024). Hon Willow-Jean Prime to the Minister for Children: What assessment tools and mechanisms are in place for the "rolling assessment" of the residential stage of the pilot military-style academy?

Hon Karen Chhour: A comprehensive assessment will be completed for all the young people, and their families where possible, involved in the Military-Style Academy Pilot. The assessment will be led by a Senior Clinical Psychologist. It will include clinical interviews and a review of previous assessments undertaken. A range of tools will provide wellbeing measures as well as measures specific to assessing offending risks and needs. Assessments will be ongoing throughout the programme through feedback, exploring ‘good life goals’ and plans, regular wellbeing check-ins, participation of family and through a multiagency feedback approach.
