43964 (2024). Chlöe Swarbrick to the Minister of Climate Change: Does the modelling in the draft Second Emissions Reduction Plan take into account the the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment analysis of the impact of overturning the oil and gas exploration ban?

Hon Simon Watts: Yes, the baseline used for the modelling in the second emissions reduction plan did not constrain gas availability. This means any effects of overturning the oil & gas exploration ban are already included in the modelled baseline against which policy effects were estimated.
