Chlöe Swarbrick to the Minister of Climate Change: How, if at all, did the computable general equilibrium model used by Principal Economics Limited, in collaboration with the Centre for Policy Studies and Infometrics, in the draft second Emissions Reduction Plan take into account the models used by the Climate Change Commission to generate its own modelling?

Hon Simon Watts: Principal Economics used similar baseline assumptions to the Climate Change Commission's C-PLAN model when constructing the without measures counterfactual scenario. Otherwise, the Computable General Equilibrium modelling was based on Principal Economics' model and policy and other assumptions as provided by officials. The second emissions reduction plan's technical annex covers the policy assumptions in detail.
