43947 (2024). Chlöe Swarbrick to the Minister of Climate Change: What organisations, individuals, government departments and agencies, if any, provided advice on the draft Second Emissions Reduction Plan, listed by name and date of consultation?
Hon Simon Watts: Engagement on the development of the second emissions reduction plan is ongoing with public consultation on the discussion document now open. In addition to regular engagement with stakeholders on climate and environmental issues, the following specific engagement has taken place: • 6 October 2023, 25 January 2024, 7 March 2024 and 11 April 2024 – Meetings with representatives from local government • 7 December 2023 – Meeting with Ministry of Social Development's Pacific Reference Group • 22 November 2023 – Meeting with representatives from the waste sector • 21 March 2024 – Meeting with representatives from the energy sector • 1 February 2024 – Meeting with representatives from the transport sector • 8 November 2023, 14 December 2023, 7 February 2024, 13 March 2024, 3 April 2024, 18 April 2024, 7 May 2024 and 11 June 2024 – Meetings with the Climate Business Advisory Group • 22 August 2023, 17 October 2023, 23-24 March 2024, 11 April 2024, 9 May 2024, 13 June 2024 and 11 July 2024 – Youth engagement through meetings and events • 26 February 2024 and 14 March invitations to iwi and Māori stakeholder groups, with meetings held 25th, 27th and 28th March.
