43930 (2024). Hon Rachel Brooking to the Minister for Land Information: Has the Minister requested advice from officials on changing the right of land-owners to appeal to the Environment Court when their land is subject to compulsory acquisition under the Public Works Act?

Hon Chris Penk: I have commissioned a review of some aspects of the Public Works Act, aimed at ensuring that the regime (including compulsory acquisition elements) is practicable and represents an appropriate balance between the need to have infrastructure built, on the one hand, and the rights of property owners and other key considerations, on the other.
