Debbie Ngarewa-Packer to the Minister of Immigration: What specific protections and support measures, if any, are being put in place for Muslim speakers entering Aotearoa to discuss international conflicts, such as the Israeli aggression towards Palestinians, to ensure their safety upon entering Aotearoa?

Hon Erica Stanford: I am not aware of any specific protections and support measures as such matters would fall outside my portfolio as Minister of Immigration. As Minister of Immigration my responsibilities include leading the policy and strategic direction for the immigration system and certifying immigration instructions which set the rules and criteria for the grant of visas and entry permission.
