43908 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Associate Minister of Health: What progress, if any, has been made in the quarter January to March 2024 on the action ‘Establish a national cross sector stewardship and leadership group that includes people living with dementia mate wareware, sector NGOs, and the Mate Wareware Advisory Rōpū, with clear lines of accountability at locality, regional, and national levels to lead implementation of this Plan and monitor implementation’ under the objective ‘Strengthen leadership and capability across the sector’ within Te Whatu Ora’s Improving Dementia Mate Wareware Services in Aotearoa New Zealand Action Plan?
Hon Casey Costello: I am advised that a national cross sector stewardship and leadership group was established in 2022 as part of the establishment of the Dementia Mate Wareware Ecosystem | Te Pūnaha Mana Whakahaere mō te Mate Wareware. The leadership and advisory group is supported via the Dementia Mate Wareware Network, which consists of a broad and open group of service providers, workforce, dementia experts, and people living with dementia mate wareware and their whānau. The role of the network is to engage with and provide advice to the leadership and advisory group, and to ensure the governance ecosystem is well connected to the broader sector. I am advised during the January to March 2024 quarter, the Dementia Mate Wareware Network / Te Tūhononga mō te Mate Wareware continued to meet.
