43887 (2024). Hon Priyanca Radhakrishnan to the Minister for Social Development and Employment
Written Question
Published date: 28 Jul 2024
43887 (2024). Hon Priyanca Radhakrishnan to the Minister for Social Development and Employment: How many disabled people, if any, earn a total amount that is below the minimum wage and is made up of a combination of the Supported Living Payment and a wage from an employer with a minimum wage exemption?
Hon Louise Upston: I am advised that the Ministry of Social Development (the Ministry) does not hold data on the hourly rate of Ministry client’s wages. However, the information may be recorded on individual client files and would require the Ministry to undertake substantial manual collation and divert staff from their core duties. In accordance with the Speaker’s Ruling 199-6, I consider that the time, and hence the expense, of answering this part of the Member’s questions is not in the public interest.
This is also my response to written parliamentary question 43891 (2024).
