Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What actions, if any, have been taken in the last quarter (January to March 2024) to implement the recommendation ‘Review planned care performance monitoring frameworks and updates to include routine reporting of metrics by ethnicity’ as part of Te Whatu Ora Planned Care Taskforce Reset and Restore Plan?

Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that in the January to March 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand developed and deployed the national performance framework for planned care. This provides Health NZ with national oversight of planned care performance across a range of metrics, including reporting by ethnicity. As Health NZ continues to build on this work, it will incorporate other important metrics, such as rurality and disability into its reporting and performance framework.
