43837 (2024). Hon Dr Ayesha Verrall to the Minister of Health: What actions, if any, have been taken in the last quarter (January to March 2024) to implement the recommendation ‘Establish a mechanism that provides visibility of compliance with national collections requirements, and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in data quality’ as part of Te Whatu Ora Planned Care Taskforce Reset and Restore Plan?
Hon Dr Shane Reti: I am advised that during the January to March 2024 quarter, Health New Zealand reviewed data quality and identified areas for action, including work to bring systems and processes together into a joined up national approach.
I am further advised that data quality continues to be a priority area of focus for Health NZ at a national, regional and district level.
I am also advised that Health NZ has built capability into the national data set to show where there are data quality issues within national collections and in live operational data. This insight is being used to identify areas of improvement both at district and national level.
