43778 (2024). Lan Pham to the Minister of Finance: Will the minister be using a gender budgeting assessment approach for the 2025/2026 Budget?

Hon Nicola Willis: As in Budget 2024, our Budget 2025 assessment approach will be centred around value for money analysis. When assessing whether a Budget initiative provides value for money, we will consider the benefits and costs of an initiative, and how these benefits and costs are spread across different population groups. Agencies will be asked to consider the distributional impacts of the proposed initiative from a variety of lenses, of which gender is one.
