43709 (2024). Ingrid Leary to the Minister for Mental Health: Does the Minister agree with Coroner Alison Mills recommendation that Te Whatu Ora Waikato make it easier for nurses to identify patients known for not taking medication, after the death of a Waikato mental health patient; if so, what, if anything, will he do to address this?

Hon Matt Doocey: I am advised that Health New Zealand has reviewed documentation protocols (including medication charts) and considered how to improve the way nursing staff can identify tāngata whaiora who have known medication compliance issues or who need additional supervision or careful monitoring due to changes to their medication.
