43645 (2025). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Minister of Housing: What is the expected net increase, if any, in the social housing stock in 2025/26 and how does that number break down by community housing provider and Kāinga Ora?

Hon Chris Bishop: As at 9 September 2025, the projected increase in social housing stock in 2025/26 is approximately 1,230. This consists of around 1,150 delivered by Community Housing Providers (CHPs) and 80 places delivered by Kāinga Ora. This information is subject to change as projects are finalised and is dependent on expected dates for tenanting being met.
