43630 (2024). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Transport: How many schools, if any, currently have variable speed limits of either 30 km/h or 60 km/h outside them?

Hon Simeon Brown: NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) advises me that speed limit information for schools on local roads is held by each respective Road Controlling Authority (RCA). As the RCA for the state highway network, NZTA advises that 14 schools located on state highways have a variable speed limit (VSL) of 30km/h and 7 have a VSL of 60km/h. Additionally, 23 schools have a VSL of 40km/h.
