43618 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister for Rail: How many shipyards submitted bids in the tender process run by Ferry Holdings for the Cook Strait ferry replacement project, and which countries are those shipyards based in?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: As announced, six shipyards were invited to tender. More expressed interest, but these six were identified by Ferry Holdings to have the capacity and capability to deliver. As for the countries those shipyards are based in, the member will have to wait until the contracts are entered.
