43615 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister for Rail: What due diligence has been carried out on the capacity of the preferred shipyard to deliver two 200-metre ferries with rail and road decks by 2029?

Rt Hon Winston Peters: Ferry Holdings is running an orthodox, competitive, closed tender process. The six shipyards which progressed into the closed tender process all demonstrated to Ferry Holdings and its independent advisors, including international shipbrokers, that they have the capacity to deliver ferries of the type described in that question.
