43615 (2024). Tamatha Paul to the Minister of Housing: How many houses, if any, does the Government expect or plan to complete building in the 2024/25 financial year, broken down by public housing, transitional housing, Kiwibuild, and market built?
Hon Chris Bishop: There are 3,168 social housing places left to be delivered in the 2024/25 financial year by Kāinga Ora and CHPs (as at the end of June 2024) to meet the delivery intentions as set out in the Public Housing Plan. The Government is not currently funding the building of new Transitional Housing, with any new places brought into service being secured through leasing from the private market. There are 471 Kiwibuild homes and 328 market homes under construction or contracted to be completed in the 2024/25 financial year.
