43579 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Local Government: What role, if any, is Taumata Arowai playing in reviewing councils’ Water Service Delivery Plans submitted under the Local Water Done Well policy?

Hon Simon Watts: The Department of Internal Affairs leads the assessment and review of water services delivery plans and has established a review panel to support that process. The panel are reviewing the Water Service Delivery Plans and advising the Secretary of Local Government on key risks and considerations identified from the review. I am advised the Water Services Authority – Taumata Arowai has a staff member on the Water Services Delivery Plan Review Panel.
