43572 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Local Government: How many councils have indicated an intention to access debt through the Local Government Funding Agency in order to finance their new water entities, if any, and what are the names of those councils?

Hon Simon Watts: I expect the majority of councils already access finance through Local Government Funding Agency and will continue to do so. This information will be available in full once the Department of Internal Affairs (the Department) has completed its review and assessment process. This will be made available on the Department’s website.
