43570 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Local Government: What governance structures, if any, have been proposed by councils for each new council-controlled water organisation created under the Local Water Done Well policy?

Hon Simon Watts: The water services delivery plans (plans) may include governance structures as outlined in section 14 of the Local Government (Water Services Preliminary Arrangements) Act 2024. Most plans are already available on council websites. Once plans are accepted by the Secretary for Local Government, they will be linked to the Department of Internal Affairs’ website.
