43553 (2025). Tangi Utikere to the Minister of Local Government: How many consultants, if any, have been engaged to help officials review councils Water Service Delivery plans and what are their company names?

Hon Simon Watts: I have been advised that the Department of Internal Affairs (Department) has engaged Beca, Deloitte, and Russell McVeagh as external providers to support the review of water services delivery plans (plans), providing surge capacity for the review period over a short window. These three organisations each have five (total 15) consultants supporting the Department to review council plans, noting that not all are working full time on this work over the review period. The Department has also engaged four contractors to support the core team with the review and assessment of plans. This is consistent with the answer to WPQ43555
