43272 (2025). Hon Kieran McAnulty to the Associate Minister of Housing: Further to his response to question 39221 (2025), how does the average cost per household assisted through the Social Outcomes Contracting Trial compare with the average cost per household supported in emergency housing?

Hon Tama Potaka: As the trial is only 10 months in, officials advise me it is too early in the trial to provide an accurate average cost per household to compare to other supports like emergency housing. The average cost of this trial is better provided when it finishes in November 2026, as this will give a more accurate picture of the households in the trial and their support needs over time. It would take a considerable amount of time to collate this information. Therefore, in accordance with Speaker’s Ruling 210/6, I consider that the time, and hence expense, of answering this question cannot be justified as a matter of public interest
